Famed Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo is by far the most trusted source of Apple leaks and information, and today, he has come out with a new research note, obtained by MacRumors, where he mentions the future of the iPhone and when we can expect Apple to finally make the switch to 5G enabled smartphones. Back when Apple was still planning on using Intel modems in its iPhones, it was rumored that the 2020 iPhones will be the first to get 5G support. However, since then, the company has switched its modem provider to Qualcomm — for which they had to settle a long patent dispute with the American chipmaker, and pay at least $4.5 billion — and will not be using Intel modems. Apple  will likely be launching this year’s iPhone models, expected to be called iPhone XI series, at an event in September and as we approach the launch, leaks are pouring in at an unprecedented rate. Apple announced iOS 12 at WWDC 2018 earlier this month, however, the beta builds have so far been limited to developers. That changes now, as Apple has released the first public beta version of iOS 12 which can now be downloaded from the official public beta  website . Apple has been investing heavily in the audio department, with a lot of products expected to be released soon. We have heard about the  2018 AirPods which could come with voice-activated Siri  along with  high-end, over-ear headphones with an “all-new” design  as well. However, new reports suggest that these devices could very well be released next year, along with another speaker device. As reported by “ people familiar with the matter ” to  Bloomberg , Apple is planning to release higher-end AirPods, studio-quality over-the-ear headphones, and a new HomePod smart speaker in 2019. The iPhone 6s may have been originally launched way back in 2015, but the device apparently still has a lot of life left in it, as Apple has started commercial production of the device at the Bengaluru facility of its contract manufacturing partner, Wistron. According to sources  quoted by ET , the Taiwan-based firm has set up a new line for the handset that has now become the second Apple smartphone after the iPhone SE to be made in India. Apple and Samsung may be bitter rivals in the domain of smartphones, but both the companies are on the same page when it comes to sourcing hardware components for the iPhone line-up. Take for example the OLED panels manufactured by Samsung for devices like the iPhones X. One of the biggest beneficiaries of Apple’s feud with Qualcomm has been Intel, which bagged the modem chip orders for iPhones just a few years ago and has since strengthened its business ties with Apple. Now, Intel has begun the production of the XMM 7560 modem chips for Apple’s new line-up of iPhones set to arrive later this year. “XMM 7560 [modem chips are] now in the process of being deployed… It is in trial and mass production” , Intel’s VP of Technology, Systems Architecture and Client Group, Asha Keddy, was quoted as saying by Nikkei Asian Review in an interview. Keddy added that the XMM 7560 modem chip is a milestone for Intel as it is its first with CDMA support, which means iPhones equipped with the new Intel modem chips will finally be available on all major carriers. Several leaks from multiple sources over the past few months have suggested that Apple will  launch a low-price iPhone this year  as a successor to its first-gen iPhone SE, which was launched in 2016. A new leak from French advertising company, JCDecaux, now seemingly suggests that the device may be launched as early as this month itself. According to the leaked document, British carrier EE is planning to make the phone available to its customers between the 15th and 18th of this month. Apple is all set to host its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) next week and the company is expected to make a  ton of announcements  regarding its software ecosystem. We expect the company to reveal the next major updates for iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS, along with improvements for its digital assistant Siri.
